Email & Lifecycle Design Exercise

We’re building a lifecycle and email program that combines solid automation design with high-quality campaigns.

We’re looking for someone who can design clean flows, reason about user behavior, and also create thoughtful, effective emails — not just send volume.


Our Mission

We build lifecycle systems that are:

  • behavior-driven

  • clean event design
  • disciplined tagging and segmentation
  • explicit decision trees
  • minimal guesswork
  • and flows that can be explained, debugged, and extended

This role is for someone who enjoys reasoning about systems, mapping user behavior to automation logic, and leaving infrastructure clearer than they found it.


Job Requirements

This is a fully remote position. However, all candidates must be physically located in and have legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada, without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future. Candidates must be fluent in English and able to work U.S. business hours.

At this time, we are not sponsoring visas or supporting employment based on temporary work authorization.


The Role

We are looking for an Email & Lifecycle Marketing Lead to own our messaging systems end-to-end.

You will design how emails are captured, how users are segmented, how flows adapt to behavior — and you will also help shape the actual campaigns people see.

In this role, you will:

Lifecycle & automation

  • Design email capture flows using tools like ManyChat + Klaviyo (or similar)
  • Build clean tagging and segmentation systems
  • Design behavior-based automations (click / no-click / delay / re-engage)
  • Create multi-step decision logic inside flows
  • Handle edge cases (partial signup, repeated entry, stale profiles, conflicting tags)
  • Debug and improve production flows

Campaigns & creative

  • Plan and build email campaigns
  • Write or guide copy
  • Shape structure, pacing, and sequencing
  • Ensure campaigns align with segmentation and intent
  • Balance performance with brand quality

Imagine we’re using ManyChat + Klaviyo (or similar tools).

We want to:

  • capture an email from social / chat
  • tag the user based on what they care about (for example: gut health)
  • put them into the right flow
  • and adapt based on what they do next

Walk through:

  • how you’d structure that system
  • how you’d tag users
  • what you’d do if:
    • they never click
    • they click right away
    • they click later

Then briefly show 1–2 real examples of:

  • campaigns or flows you’ve built
  • how the logic worked
  • what you’d improve now

That’s it.

We’re looking for how you think, not a polished presentation.


Compensation

This will initially be a 30-hour a week contract role, with the potential to become a full-time position for someone who shares our values, consistently delivers excellence, and thrives in our culture.
