Educational Resources for Physician's
THE FOLLOWING ARE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES I use on a daily basis. In my view they represent the best of the best sources of information, research, and ongoing training for physician's.

Institute for Functional Medicine Books, Training Programs, and More

The goal of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) is to serve the highest expression of individual health through the widespread adoption of functional medicine as the standard of medical care. To that end they have produced a number of textbooks, training programs, and other interesting venues for the development and dissemination of functional medicine. If you are interested in becoming a member of the IFM and participating in their discussion forum on cases and topics, click here. Additional educational resources from IFM follow.

Textbooks

IFM Training Programs

Other Functional and Natural Medicine Resources

In addition to materials and training program by IFM, I also find the following invaluable.

My Favorite Conferences

My Favorite Medical Journals

My Favorite Websites

  • PubMed--National Library of medicine; free access to Medline.
  • USDA Nutrient Database--This interface allows simple searches on the USDA Nutrient Database.
  • NLM Clinical Trials Database--Location, design, purpose, criteria and other information on NIH clinical trials.
  • NIH Office of Dietary Supplements--The International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements (IBIDS) is a NIH web site produced by the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS). It offers a database of published, international, scientific literature on dietary supplements, including vitamins, minerals, and botanicals. Nice feature is that search can be limited to peer-reviewed publications.
