Empowering Others and Embracing Play
Staying authentic in the face of cultural norms can be a challenge. But if you’re like Miki Agrawal, and hear any “No” as an opportunity to create a “Yes,” authenticity comes naturally.
This week on The Doctor’s Farmacy, I sit down with my friend Miki to discuss her adventures as an industry disruptor who finds truth and meaning in every day. Miki co-founded the period-proof underwear THINX and founded the company TUSHY to bring bidets into the American mainstream. She just released her second book, Disrupt-Her: A Manifesto for the Modern Woman, devoted to helping women rally together against the status quo.
Throughout our talk, Miki shares her secrets to success. Her passion for supporting other women, empowering communities, and living a joyful life is apparent right from the start. Miki has a contagious enthusiasm that will get you fired up to jumpstart your own dreams and make them a reality.
Miki and I also talk about the power of play, a surprising but essential part of wellness and something we often lose more of with each passing year. When we embrace childlike wonder and lets ourselves be whimsical we can feel lighter, more energized, and more inspired.
Miki and I dig into many important health topics you don’t often hear about. We talk about menstruation and how it impacts women on multiple levels (including the education of girls in developing countries) to why toilet paper is actually an imperfect tool and can lead to anal fissures, hemorrhoids, and other uncomfortable symptoms that can actually be avoided. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ll learn in this week’s episode.
